Wing Tai Partners Pathlight School Turn River Greens Hoardings Vibrant Student Art Showcase

Wing Tai Asia disclosed on April 15 that it has joined forces with Pathlight School for a community project at its upcoming development, River Green. The 525-unit residential project will be situated in the prime District 9, at River Valley Green and is scheduled to launch sometime in the second half of 2025. In June of last year, Wing Tai secured the government land sales (GLS) site at River Valley Green (Parcel A) with a bid of $464 million, or $1,325 per square foot per plot ratio (psf ppr).

The partnership with Pathlight School will involve an art competition for students in the school’s secondary and vocational track. The objective is to transform the hoardings around the construction site of River Green into a vibrant community art canvas that will showcase the talents of Pathlight School students, as stated in a press release by Wing Tai.

The competition’s theme will revolve around the surroundings of River Green, including the Singapore River, the River Valley area, and the architectural heritage of the neighborhood. The competition was launched in April, coinciding with Autism Awareness Month. The winning and selected entries will be displayed on River Green’s 200m hoarding along Kim Seng Linear Park for the next three years.

Edmund Cheng, deputy chairman of Wing Tai Holdings, says, “Art has always been an integral part of Wing Tai’s developments, creating connections and enriching the community while enhancing the environment.” He adds, “While hoardings usually serve as safety and noise barriers, we are excited to transform them into a vibrant canvas featuring artworks inspired by the River Valley and Singapore River precincts. This initiative presents a unique opportunity to engage with the local community and celebrate the creativity and talent of budding young artists from Pathlight School.”

According to Linda Kho, senior principal of Pathlight School, “Art is a powerful form of self-expression that allows our students to share their unique perspectives.” She adds that the collaboration with Wing Tai will not only showcase the students’ talents but also build their confidence and encourage them to further develop their artistic passions.

Wing Tai’s River Valley Green (Parcel A) site will be transformed into the new 525-unit River Green residential development (EdgeProp Landlens). This collaboration marks Pathlight’s first partnership with a real estate developer to showcase its students’ artwork on such a platform and scale. The initiative also presents a great opportunity for interested buyers to learn more about the project and its surrounding neighborhood.
