Singapore-based developer Pontiac Land Group has recently shared new information regarding the second phase of its mixed-use project in Sydney. The project, known as The Lands by Capella, will be located in the heart of the Sydney central business district, within the heritage-listed former Department of Lands building. This development will offer approximately 10,000 square meters of luxurious retail, dining, and event spaces. The opening of The Lands by Capella is projected for the first quarter of 2026, following the completion of Capella Singapore in 2023. Capella Singapore, a 192-room hotel situated in the adjacent former Department of Education building, together with The Lands by Capella, forms The Sandstone Precinct.
In a recent press release, Pontiac Land highlights that The Sandstone Precinct is one of the largest privately funded tourism infrastructure projects in New South Wales (NSW). This project also marks Pontiac Land’s first mixed-use development in Australia. “We are honored to work closely with the NSW Government, City of Sydney, and First Nations advisors to meticulously carry out restoration and conservation works, showcasing our commitment to celebrating Australian heritage, art, and culture,” says David Tsang, CEO of Pontiac Land Group.
