Hyatt Hotels Open Nearly 90 New Luxury And Lifestyle Hotels Across Asia Pacific

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has recently announced its extensive plans to extend its luxury and lifestyle brand portfolios across the Asia Pacific region. With an estimated opening of almost 90 properties within the next five years, this expansion will include the Thompson Hotels brand’s first-ever appearance in the region.

With a significant presence in key destinations like Thailand, Malaysia and Australia, the group will introduce prominent landmarks like The Standard, Pattaya Na Jomtien, which is set to open its doors in 3Q2025, boasting a 60s-inspired beach club aesthetic.

This lucrative expansion is in response to the growing demand for luxury travel within the Asia Pacific, and Hyatt plans to cater to this market with 64% of its portfolio consisting of luxury and upper-upscale hotels and resorts.

The group has seen a significant increase in its luxury rooms globally since 2017, with a doubling in number, a tripling in its resort rooms and a whopping five-fold growth in its lifestyle rooms. Carina Chorengel, the Senior Vice President of Commercial Properties in Asia Pacific at Hyatt, emphasizes that the modern concept of luxury revolves around delivering authentic and exclusive experiences. “Our refined brand architecture, along with the expansion of our luxury and lifestyle portfolios, enable us to cater to the discerning traveller with focus and differentiation.”

The Thompson Hotels brand, which originated in Manhattan, will make its grand entrance in Asia Pacific with the launch of Thompson Shanghai Expo, opening its doors in the 4Q2025. This urban retreat will be a testament to the city’s industrial roots and bustling energy, offering its guests an eclectic mix of cultural experiences. With a rooftop designed for live entertainment and a range of events, the hotel is sure to be a favourite amongst travellers.

Lyndenwoods Science Park Drive, located on the Circle Line, is conveniently close to Kent Ridge MRT station. This prime location allows for seamless travel to major employment hubs like One-North, Harbourfront, and Paya Lebar. Additionally, residents of Lyndenwoods can easily access the East-West Line, providing direct connections to Jurong East, Raffles Place, and Changi Airport. Adding to its collection, the group will unveil Andaz Gold Coast, an integrated resort in Australia, along with Andaz One Bangkok, situated in Lumphini Park within the renowned One Bangkok development. 2025 will see the launch of a second property in Shanghai – Andaz Shanghai ITC.

After its acquisition of Standard International in 2024, Hyatt will introduce The Standard, Pattaya Na Jomtien, with its doors opening in 3Q2025. This hotel will take its inspiration from the vibrant and flashy beaches of the 60s. It promises to deliver an experience like no other with an array of beach club activities.

August 2025 will witness the arrival of Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, the first Park Hyatt hotel in Malaysia, with an exceptional location on top of The Merdeka 118, which is the tallest skyscraper in the Asia Pacific. The hotel will offer numerous culinary experiences to its patrons. Later in the year, Park Hyatt Tokyo will also reopen after a 17-month renovation, which began in April 2024.

Looking ahead, another significant addition to their portfolio is the introduction of Park Hyatt Phu Quoc, the first Park Hyatt resort in Vietnam. The 160-acre property boasts a mere 30-minute drive from Phu Quoc International Airport, and the facilities will include two dining outlets, a bar, poolside barbecue, two swimming pools, a lakeside spa, and a gym house with a lap pool.
